De Haan is the proud owner of a fine sandy beach that is 11 km in length, representing close to 1/5th of the Belgian coastline, where you can sunbathe, swim up against the waves, go sport fishing, enjoy a game of volleyball or football with your friends, fly a kite, build sand castles, saunter hand in hand with the one you love, enjoy a glorious sunset or a brisk walk along the water front … to your heart’s content.

The delightful sea fronts of De Haan and Wenduine are a standing invitation to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple at one of a wide selection of outdoor terraces. As family seaside resorts, the pair of them have maintained a longstanding tradition of children’s beach games.
Which explains why July and August see a whole slew of beach activities being staged each week: treasure hunt, sack racing, flower stalls, sand figures.
